VVTA Watch: Safety and Security Mobile App for Victor Valley Transit Riders

The VVTA Watch Safety and Security App provides transit riders with a convenient and discreet platform to report concerns directly to Victor Valley Transit. Users of the app can relay information through text descriptions, photos, six-second videos, and locations of suspicious individuals or activities. The home screen offers users two simple options to get in touch with Victor Valley Transit:

• The "Report an Incident" feature enables users to send text or photos directly to Victor Valley Transit. To ensure confidentiality, the camera flash is automatically disabled when capturing photos within the app. Users can specify locations and report categories when addressing an issue. Additionally, riders have the option to submit reports anonymously.
• The "Call 911" function connects riders promptly with law enforcement.

The application is designed to function reliably even in areas with poor signal reception. Reports sent from locations without cellular or Wi-Fi access will be stored and transmitted once connectivity is reestablished. Moreover, the system prioritizes sending text descriptions before photos to ensure that law enforcement receives vital information promptly.

Additional Features:

• BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Alerts: The VVTA Watch app may feature alerts from Victor Valley Transit regarding specific individuals of interest. These alerts could relate to missing persons, children, or other situations, providing details such as their last known whereabouts. If a user encounters a person mentioned in a BOLO alert, they are encouraged to immediately contact 9-1-1 and discreetly report the sighting to Victor Valley Transit via the app.
